Ugly Betty’s Eric Mabius Joins “Outcasts”

Ugly Betty star Eric Mabius has just joined the miniseries “Outcasts.” There will be eight episodes taped for the sci-fi show, which is set in the year 2040.

The show is about a group of individuals who flee from Earth after most of the human race perishes in a biological catastrophe. Only about 50,000 people head off into the solar system to find a life-supporting planet and start over.

Eric’s character will be the vice president of the evacuation program.

Hmm interesting, will you be tuning in to watch?

Did ‘Ugly Betty’ Steal An Idea?

“Ugly Betty” just went off the air and now a writer/director is claiming the show’s producers, including ABC and Touchstone, ripped off her idea — this according to a federal lawsuit.

In the court documents, filed today in federal court in Los Angeles, Azita Zendel says she wrote a screenplay which became the movie “Controlled Chaos” — and that several episodes of ‘Betty’ are similar to her movie.

According to the docs, Zendel claims the producers of ‘Betty’ got their hands on her project because she submitted it to them for a possible distribution deal — but instead they allegedly used it without compensating her.

In case you never saw (or even heard of) “Controlled Chaos” — imdb.com says it’s about an assistant who has to cover up a film director’s scandalous lifestyle.

Zendel is suing for unspecified damages.

Uh Oh, looks like it’s time to pay up!

Hm, could that be the REAL reason why they canceled the great show?

Predictions For The End Of Ugly Betty

Of course, this month Ugly Betty is coming to an end because the show isn’t getting as much viewers as ABC had liked it to be, bummer. But if you guys watched the LAST episode of ugly betty you would see some foreshadowing of what’s going to happen.

Here is what I predict:

1.) Betty & Amanda will quit Mode because they don’t have a passion for fashion any longer.

2.) Justin has become a homosexual and more pressure on Bobby on telling Hilda.

3.) Claire Made will tell her long lost son the truth about his father.

Any other predictions you guys think will be in the next last episodes of Ugly Betty?

America Ferrera Talks “Ugly Betty” Ending

It’s nearing the end of the “Ugly Betty” era, and America Ferrera says she’ll miss playing the awkward-yet-lovable character.

The actress told press, “I’ve lived with this character who I’ve loved from day one and I have only grown to feel more connected to her. Her entire journey was about a transformation, kind of coming into her womanhood and owning herself both physically and emotionally.”

“I never really pictured myself being on television. I couldn’t imagine a world coming along that would entice me enough to sign away years and years of my life to one character. Then Betty came around. I was 21 when I started and I’ve learned so much and grown so much as a person.”

Ferrera added, I’m staying in denial for now — I’ll deal with all those emotions in a little bit. I imagine that when we finally wrap it’s not going to be a dry-eyed goodbye.”

Vanessa Williams Is Devastated!

ABC is honestly stupid! The hit tv show Ugly Betty on ABC is now being pulled from television. Why would they cancel such a great show? People these days are all caught up in ratings and making money for their station!

It’s wasn’t the show faught it was ABC itself! They moved from Thursdays to Fridays now back to Wednesdays! BIG MISTAKE! Don’t ever ever confuse your viewers on which days the show will be on, you’ll lose viewers and they’ll end up catching the rest online.

Vanessa release a statement saying:

“I gotta be honest, we’re devastated. We’re sad, we’re not ready for it to end. We just moved to New York. We just got on a roll. Our season this year has been the best we’ve ever had. But numbers and ratings (were a concern). A lot of people couldn’t even find us. We switched – we were put on Thursday then taken off then (we were on) Fridays, now we’re finally on Wednesday nights. But we’re sad.”

Couldn’t agree more, ABC will probably regret this decision.

Say Adiós Ugly Betty!

Spending the day in the company of her pooch pal, America Ferrera was spotted on location for “Ugly Betty” in Manhattan on Wednesday.

As she strolled alongside her dog Buddy, the young actress chatted with fellow staff workers just as it was announced that the show is being pulled by ABC after the current season.

ABC execs released a statement reading: “We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty’s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion.”

The announcement adds: “We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.”

What a bummer! The show was so good.
