Karate Kid Chops Up Box Office

Proving to be the big hit of the weekend, “The Karate Kid” winded up claiming the top slot in the box office in dominating fashion.

After pulling in $18 million on Friday, the Jaden Smith/Jackie Chan starring action film remake is estimated to have garnered $56 million in all over its opening three days in theaters.

Coming in second place was “The A-Team,” which made a little bit less than anticipated with $27 million in ticket sales.

Rounding out the weekend’s top grossing flicks were “Shrek Forever After” at $16 million and Russell Brand’s “Get Him to the Greek” with $10 million in its second week.

Spencer Pratt Receives His Last Paycheck

Fame doesn’t last forever, and if you’re not smart about managing it this is what happens!

MTV will be giving Spencer Pratt his last paycheck of course until he finds another job unless he gets employed again which is very unlikely.

Heidi Montag has filed separation papers today now Spencer won’t get even a dime! Finally this is what we have been waiting for!!!!!!! But why would she file it now? If she was smart enough she would’ve done it on the hills to boost up ratings? Oh well.

A source reveals that Spencer’s last paycheck won’t last him long:

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Spencer goes postal now. I mean he just got his last check and the way that kid blows through cash, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s broke by the end of July.”

Ouch! Let’s just see where this goes!

Kate Gosselin “It’s Good To Have A Job”

Adding a little cheeriness to the local streets, Kate Gosselin was bright in blue while out shopping in Reading, Pennsylvania on Tuesday (June 1).

The TLC reality star mom was photographed by paparazzi while leaving the local Target, seeming in a happy mood as she even answered a few questions.

During the chat, Kate was asked about her new show “Twist of Kate,” of which she said that it was “good to have a job” and it “has been a lot of fun for both her and the kids.”

Apple is planning to release the new iPhone 4G in June or July 2010! No details on what new features will be on the new phone BUT if you still like the 3Gs and want to buy it cheap Wal-Mart is now selling the 16GB iPhones for only $97!!!

What a bargain! But yet again, I would rather wait another month for a NEWER phone.

More Movie Theaters Are Raising Their Prices!!

This is crazy!

Several theaters are planning on charging $20 for for adult tickets to IMAX showings of “Shrek Forever After” in 3-D.

The change in prices haven’t officially been announced, however, the new prices were already posted on the movie ticket site Fandango.com.

This comes just eight weeks after theater operators raised prices as much as 26%, which was the steepest hike in the past decade.

Who the hell would pay $20 to go see a movie? SURE! Slap on a 3-D logo on the movie and it’s a great reason to raise the price!

What has this world come to? No wonder why most teens would rather just smoke weed.

Woman Denied By Apple To Buy The iPad With Cash

Well this is stupid!

Dianne Campbell, was living on a fixed income but that didnt stop her from saving-up just enough to buy Apple’s latest trend, the iPad. What did stop her was the SF-based Apple Store that wouldn’t take her cash. Of the incident, Campbell says, “”Finally get to have some kind of internet. And all of a sudden…no you don’t.”

According to Apple’s iPad Sales Policy, “iPad purchases are limited to 2 per customer and must be purchased with a Credit Card or Debit Card only.” I’m thinking that its because they wanna be able to track the sales of iPad per customer, you know, in case we decide to sell what we bought with our hard-earned credit card. Since when did Apple become too good for hard-earned cash?

Why would you need to limit this woman? She doesnt want to re-sell. She obviously wants to buy only one. And Dianne wants “to have some kind of internet.” Who are you to deny this sweet woman of “some kind of internet”?!? Oh, for shame Apple.

We, non-cash-paying customers, have been punched countless times in the face while iPhoning in our beds. We’re willing to let that go, Apple, if you help Dianne out.

Jay-Z Auctions Off His Fancy Watch For Some Ca$h

On Monday, Jay-Z put his personalized watch up for auction at Audemars Piguet‘s Time to Care benefit.

And even though the money raised would be going to a good cause, it was hard for Jay to give it away. He said “I kind of don’t want to part with this. So I hope it goes for a small amount so I can bid on it.”

Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. The fancy timepiece went for a whopping $220,000.

The lucky buyer? Vanessa Williams!

The $220,000 and other money raised went to the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fund.

Congrats to Vanessa! And Jay, we’re sure you can afford to get another watch!

Perez Hilton Offered $20 Million For His Site!

Holy shiz, that’s a shitload of cash!

Looking as if there may be a shakeup in the world of celebrity gossip and entertainment news, Gossip Center has exclusively learned that Perez Hilton has been issued a buyout offer of $20 million for the rights to PerezHilton.com.

Site owner Perez Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavendeira, has been in negotiations for the past few months with a group of companies (Canadian & American) trying to get a deal done to create a celebrity/entertainment mega site.

As for the offer, it has been made by a subsidiary of Eight Days, Inc., Zack Taylor Group, and Dirty World, LLC – with a decision on Perez’s part required to be made by May 28, 2010.

After obtaining legal documents, Gossip Center spoke with prospective purchasers Nik Richie and Zack Taylor for comments on the offer.

Zack Taylor, the founder and creator behind Canada’s premiere gossip blog, http://www.ZackTaylor.ca, says, “By teaming-up with TheDirty.com, HotorNot.com and PerezHilton.com, we will be able to expand and reach a wider audience of viewers.”

Meanwhile, Nik Richie from TheDirty.com stated, “People are sick of the same old gossip, and this new website merge will see very different entertainment sites coming together to bring you more exclusive content than you could ever imagine!”

While no official decision has been made at this point, the deal with be going through within the next 9 days before being withdrawn.

Rihanna Spends A Shitload Of Money On Liquor!!

Rihanna was in London Monday night to perform at the O2 Arena and the show must have gone really well because the afterparty was the place to be!

Rihanna brought her posse of 70 people to the London nightclub Mahiki after the show, where they were all treated to a private dance floor and a constant flow of alcohol.

Witnesses say people brought over “Krug champagne, huge bottles of Grey Goose vodka and trays of Jager-bombs” endlessly throughout the night.

In total, Rihanna shelled out over $22,000 on booze in just 3 hours!

Taylor Swift Donates 500 Grand To Nashville!!!

T-Swizzle AKA Taylor Swift is donating $500,000 to flood relief in Nashville, which will go directly to various flood relief organizations in the city (the flooding killed 30 in three states).

“Being at home during the storm, I honestly could not believe what was happening to the city and the people I love so dearly,” the 20-year-old country cutie told The Associated Press via e-mail. “Nashville is my home, and the reason why I get to do what I love. I have always been proud to be a Nashvillian, but especially now, seeing the love that runs through this city when there are people in crisis.”

Added Taylor, “Please keep Nashville in your heart. Seeing a picture of the Grande Ole Opry halfway underwater was a kind of heartbreak I can’t describe.” (T-Swift moved to Nashville when she was 14.)
